The ISSF “B” Coaches Course began on 19 September at Taj Surajkund in Faridabad, India, under the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) Education Program, in collaboration with the ISSF Academy. The five-day course will run until 23 September.
A total of 39 coaches from India and Algeria are taking part, with the programme providing participants with an opportunity to develop their technical knowledge, coaching methodology and understanding of modern international coaching practices across the three ISSF disciplines.
The course is being delivered by experienced ISSF Academy instructors John Leighton-Dyson of Great Britain for Rifle, Agathi Kassoumi of Greece for Pistol and Davide Secondi of Italy for Shotgun. They are supported by Sanjeev Rajput as Assistant Instructor for Rifle and Vidhya Jadhav as Assistant Instructor for Pistol.

The inaugural session was attended by Pawankumar Singh, Secretary General of NRAI, Dr Vesa Nissinen, Director of ISSF Academy, and Karoliina Nissinen, CEO of ISSF Academy, together with the instructors and assistant instructors.
They welcomed the participating coaches and wished them a successful and productive course.
Addressing the group, Pawankumar Singh highlighted the importance of developing qualified coaches to support the continued growth of shooting sport in India. He also underlined the value of NRAI's collaboration with ISSF and the ISSF Academy in providing coaches with access to experienced international experts and modern coaching practices.
“We are extremely grateful to the ISSF leadership and the ISSF Academy for their continued support and confidence in NRAI,” said Singh. “These courses provide an important opportunity for our coaches to learn from highly experienced international experts and further strengthen the coaching structure in India. The knowledge gained by the coaches will ultimately benefit our athletes and contribute to the continued development of shooting sport.”

The programme combines classroom learning with technical and practical sessions, allowing the participating coaches to further develop their coaching skills under the guidance of the ISSF Academy instructors.
The course will conclude on 23 September, marking another step in the continued development of coaching expertise and education within shooting sport.
