Another memorable chapter has been written at Trap Concaverde. Over ten days of competition, the ISSF World Cup Shotgun Lonato 2026 brought together more than 600 athletes from 81 nations, reaffirming its status as the largest Shotgun World Cup of the season and one of the most prestigious events on the international shooting sport calendar.

As always, Lonato delivered world-class competition, unforgettable moments and performances that will be remembered for years to come.

The competition witnessed an extraordinary five World Records, underlining the exceptional standard of shooting sport on display. In the Skeet Women final, Sara Bongini of Italy and Victoria Larsson of Sweden simultaneously established a new World Record of 35 targets before Bongini prevailed in a dramatic shoot-off to secure her maiden ISSF World Cup title.
Later the same day, Vincent Hancock of the United States added another milestone to his legendary career by setting a new World Record of 36 in the Skeet Men final.
The Trap events continued the record-breaking trend. Italy's Erminio Frasca thrilled the home crowd with a flawless World Record performance of 30 to win the Trap Men title, while Australia's James Willett and Catherine Skinner closed the World Cup in spectacular fashion by establishing a new World Record of 37 in the Trap Mixed Team event. Together with India's Neeru Neeru, who celebrated her first ISSF World Cup victory in Trap Women, the competition showcased both established champions and exciting new stars of international shooting sport.
The final medal standings reflected both the competitiveness and the global reach of the World Cup. Italy topped the medal table on home soil with two gold medals and four medals overall, while the United States finished second with one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Australia, India, France, Great Britain, Spain and Sweden also celebrated gold medals, meaning eight different nations shared the seven titles on offer throughout the week—a testament to the depth and worldwide strength of shotgun shooting sport.
Beyond the medals and records, Lonato once again demonstrated why it has become synonymous with excellence in shooting sport. The Trap Concaverde Shooting Range provided outstanding competition conditions, while athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators created an atmosphere that reflected the passion and unity of the global shooting sport community.

The World Cup also featured the ISSF Media Session, bringing together ISSF President Luciano Rossi, athletes Silvana Stanco and Danka Barteková, and Local Organising Committee President Ivan Carella to discuss the continued development of shooting sport, preparations for the ISSF World Championships in Doha and the road towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
For many athletes, Lonato represented another crucial milestone in their preparations for the remainder of the season. With the ISSF World Championships in Doha set to award the first Olympic quota places for LA28, the performances in Italy offered an early indication of the athletes and nations to watch later this year.

As the ranges fall quiet and the final medals have been presented, Lonato leaves another lasting legacy—not only through the five World Records established during the competition, but also through the exceptional performances, passionate supporters and unwavering commitment to excellence that continue to define one of the true homes of international shotgun shooting sport.
