ISSF Junior World Championship Suhl: team India shatters World Record Junior to win 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Junior gold

India's Shambhavi Shravan Kshirsagar and Abhinav Shaw produced a spectacular performance to capture the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Junior title at the ISSF Junior World Championship Rifle / Pistol / Shotgun Suhl 2026, setting a new World Record Junior (WRJ) of 505.8 points in the gold medal match.

The Indian duo defeated Germany's Annabelle Lotter and Benedikt Ascher, while Norway's Pernille Nor-Woll and Jens Oestli secured the bronze medal.

Kshirsagar and Shaw entered the final as one of the strongest pairings in the competition and delivered when it mattered most. The Indian team opened with a solid qualification performance before steadily increasing their pace throughout the medal match. Their final score of 505.8 established a new World Record Junior, surpassing the previous mark and underlining India's continued strength in junior rifle shooting. Shaw contributed an outstanding 254.5 points, while Kshirsagar added 251.3, combining for one of the finest mixed team performances seen at junior level.
Germany's Annabelle Lotter and Benedikt Ascher claimed the silver medal after a strong and consistent showing throughout the competition. Competing in front of a home crowd, the German pair remained within striking distance of the leaders for much of the final before finishing with 499.0 points. Both athletes have enjoyed impressive championships in Suhl and added another medal to Germany's successful campaign.
The bronze medal went to Norway's Pernille Nor-Woll and Jens Oestli, who defeated Poland in the bronze medal match. Nor-Woll has been one of the standout rifle athletes of the championship, while Oestli has collected multiple finals appearances across the individual and team events. Together they posted 432.7 points to secure a deserved place on the podium and continue Norway's strong tradition in rifle shooting.
Poland's Maja Magdalena Gawenda and Jakub Goliszek finished fourth after another impressive performance in the elimination rounds. Both athletes have consistently featured among the leading junior rifle shooters in Europe and once again demonstrated their ability to compete at the highest international level.

The result marks another major success for India at the ISSF Junior World Championship Suhl 2026. By capturing the gold medal and setting a new World Record Junior, Kshirsagar and Shaw provided one of the standout performances of the championship and reinforced India's position among the world's leading nations in junior rifle shooting.
