Meeting at Olympic House, the home of the IOC, and chaired by ISSF President Luciano Rossi, the Executive Committee gathered in the Olympic Capital to discuss the future governance, strategic development and sporting direction of international shooting sport. The venue itself reflected the close cooperation between the IOC and the ISSF and the shared commitment to ensuring a strong future for shooting sport within the Olympic Movement.
A highlight of the meeting was a presentation by IOC Director of Sport Pierre Ducret, who provided Executive Committee members with valuable insight into the evolving priorities of the Olympic Movement and the opportunities available to further strengthen the position of shooting sport within the Olympic programme. His presentation demonstrated the importance of embracing expert guidance and maintaining close cooperation with Olympic stakeholders to ensure that the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games provide an outstanding platform for the ISSF, its athletes and the global shooting sport community.

Executive Committee members welcomed the continued support and engagement of the IOC and expressed their appreciation to President Kirsty Coventry for welcoming the ISSF leadership to Olympic House. The discussions reflected a shared commitment to strengthening the contribution of shooting sport to the Olympic Movement and enhancing the sport's visibility, relevance and impact in future Olympic cycles.
Among the key topics discussed were updates regarding the proposed transfer of Shooting Para Sport governance from the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) to the ISSF, preparations for the ISSF General Assembly 2026, amendments to ISSF Rules and Constitution, and matters linked to the LA28 qualification system and Minimum Qualification Scores (MQS).

The Executive Committee also reviewed reports from the ISSF Secretary General, Sport Director, Marketing Team, Media Team and Integrity Unit, alongside updates concerning technical officials, ISSF Academy activities, development programmes and the federation's financial status.
Subject to Council approval, the Executive Committee agreed that athletes from Belarus would continue to receive full recognition only in junior competitions for the time being, with the situation remaining under review in line with relevant international sporting and Olympic developments.

The Committee also approved the organisation of a 300m Rifle World Championship in Cairo, Egypt, to be held following the ISSF World Cup currently taking place in the city, creating an important championship opportunity for athletes competing in the discipline.
Additional agenda items included electoral matters related to the 2026 General Assembly, the determination of ISSF World Championships connected to Athletes Committee elections, conflict of interest policies for Technical Delegates and discussions surrounding the ISSF Development Fund. Several of these matters will now be submitted to the ISSF Council for further consideration and approval.

President Rossi said: “The meeting at Olympic House underlines ISSF's ongoing efforts to strengthen governance structures, support Member Federations and athletes while strengthening its relationship with the IOC. I’m grateful for all the efforts made on behalf of shooting sport by all our stakeholders and staff.”
