Rifle events open the championship
The finals programme began with the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men, on May 9, where Slovakia’s Patrik Jany won the gold medal ahead of Norway’s Jon-Hermann Hegg and Ukraine’s Serhii Kulish.
In the team event, Czechia secured gold, followed by Norway and Slovakia.
In the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women, Germany’s Nele Stark set a new world record with 363.3 points to claim the gold medal. Norway’s Jeanette Hegg Duestad finished second, while Great Britain’s Seonaid McIntosh took bronze.
Germany also won the women’s team event ahead of Poland and Switzerland.
The following day, Jeanette Hegg Duestad and Jon-Hermann Hegg won gold in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Duet competition after equalling the European qualification record. Ukraine’s Serhii Kulish and Daria Dudka earned silver, while Switzerland’s Emely Jaeggi and Christoph Duerr won bronze.

The 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men also produced notable results. France’s Clement Bessaguet matched the world record during qualification, while Germany won the team competition with Florian Peter, Emanuel Mueller and Oliver Geis, who also equalled the European team record.
In the final, Germany’s Oliver Geis set a new world record with 32 hits to win gold. Emanuel Mueller finished second, while Austria’s Richard Zechmeister took bronze.

After two days of finals, the European Championship 25/50m has already seen several record performances and closely contested medal events across multiple disciplines.
