Bethany Norton claims historic gold and World Record Junior in Skeet Women at ISSF World Cup Shotgun Tangier 2026

The Skeet Women Final at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Shotgun in Tangier, Morocco concluded with a remarkable and historic performance from Great Britain’s Bethany Lilian Norton, who secured gold medal and set a World Record Junior.

Held under bright sunshine and persistent wind, the final tested athletes’ precision and composure in the opening competition of the 2026 ISSF season, marking an important step on the road to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The ISSF elimination format delivered a gripping contest, progressively reducing the field through 12-shot and 4-shot series, where every target proved decisive.

In a standout performance, Bethany Lilian Norton rose to the occasion to claim gold medal in her first-ever ISSF World Cup final. The British athlete not only secured victory but did so by setting a World Record Junior with a score of 28, a landmark achievement that highlights her exceptional talent and composure under pressure.

The silver medal went to Dania Jo Vizzi (USA), who delivered a strong and consistent performance throughout the final, staying in contention until the very last shots. Dania recently won gold in Women’s Skeet at Buenos Aires 2025 and has claimed numerous other medals in ISSF competitions over the years. 

Earlier, Lucie Anastassiou (FRA) secured the bronze medal, marking the sixth ISSF World Cup bronze medal of her career.

Norton’s performance in Tangier represents more than a victory — it is a historic breakthrough, with her World Record Junior setting a new benchmark for the next generation of athletes in women’s skeet.
