From 9 to 13 March 2026, an ISSF Rifle and Pistol Judges Course was successfully conducted in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, bringing together participants seeking to obtain or renew their official judging licences. The course was part of the International Shooting Sport Federation’s educational programme aimed at strengthening the pool of qualified technical officials worldwide.
A total of 12 participants attended the course. Among them, nine were new candidates applying for an ISSF Judges Licence, while three participants attended as part of a refresher programme to renew their licences after expiration.
Following the completion of the course and the final examination, eight of the nine new candidates successfully obtained their ISSF Judges Licence, marking an important step in expanding the number of qualified officials within the international shooting sport community.
The course was delivered by Oscar Martínez of Venezuela and Wissam Maalouf of Brazil, who guided participants through the rules, procedures and responsibilities required of ISSF judges in rifle and pistol disciplines.
