The Opening Ceremony of the European Championship 10m was held today in Yerevan, Armenia, officially launching one of the key continental shooting sport competitions of the season.
Taking place from 27 February to 5 March, with finals taking place on 1st and 2nd March, the championship brings together Europe’s leading rifle, pistol, and moving target athletes for several days of high-level competition and sporting excellence in the capital of Armenia.
The ceremony gathered officials and dignitaries to celebrate the start of the event, highlighting the strong collaboration between organisers, participating Member Federations, and the International Shooting Sport Federation.
The ISSF President attended the Opening Ceremony and will remain in Yerevan throughout the coming days to follow the competitions and engage with athletes.

This year’s European Championship 10m participation figures underline the event’s importance on the continental calendar:
- 354 athletes
- 40 countries represented
- 40 Member Federations
- 951 total competition starts
The programme includes 15 ISSF medal events across Rifle, Pistol, and Moving Target disciplines, accounting for 590 starts, alongside 8 non-ISSF events in Rifle and Pistol with 361 starts.
With competition now underway, Yerevan is set to host several days of intense performances, emerging talents, and medal battles, further strengthening Europe’s position as a global powerhouse in shooting sport.
