Asian Championship Continues with Mixed Team Air Rifle and 25m Pistol Finals

The Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship in New Delhi continued with the 10m air rifle mixed team and 25m standard pistol events providing the main highlights on day five of competition at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range. The air rifle mixed team gold medal was secured by Elavenil Valarivan and Arjun Babuta, who delivered a strong performance in the final ahead of the Republic of Korea pairing of Kwon Eunji and Kim Woorim, while Japan’s Misaki Nobata and Naoya Okada completed the podium.
In the junior mixed team air rifle event, Himanshu Dhillon and Shambhavi Kshirsagar claimed victory following a consistent performance throughout the final, with Kazakhstan’s Alina Satpayeva and Tamerlan Kabulov taking silver and Maldives’ Eeasha Shaheed and Maaidh Mohamed earning bronze. The youth mixed team competition also saw close competition, as Indonesia’s Dominique Rachmawati Karini and Anang Febrian secured silver behind the gold medal winners, while the Kyrgyz Republic claimed bronze.
The 25m standard pistol men’s event concluded with Gurpreet Singh taking gold ahead of Harsh Gupta and Amanpreet Singh, while Vietnam and Kazakhstan featured among the team medal winners. In the junior category, Suraj Sharma claimed gold, followed by Mukesh Nelavalli and Tanishq Muralidhar Naidu on the podium, reflecting strong performances across both senior and junior competitions.
Competition in New Delhi continues with the conclusion of the women’s 25m pistol event scheduled for the next day, as athletes from across Asia continue to compete across rifle and pistol disciplines in one of the continent’s key ISSF competitions of the season.
