Over the two days, IOC Members and representatives of the Olympic Movement gathered to address a comprehensive agenda focused on governance, strategic direction and the continued development of the Olympic Games, at a key moment leading into the upcoming Winter Games.
At the occasion, International Olympic Committee (IOC) Vice-President Mr Juan Antonio Samaranch (ESP) was re-elected for a second four-year term. The Session also elected three members of the IOC Executive Board - Mr Ingmar De Vos (BEL), Mr Jae Youl Kim (KOR) and Mr Neven Ilic (CHI). In addition, the Session elected Olympian Ms Soraya Aghaei Haji Agha (IRI) as a new IOC Member.

Key Reports and Discussions
During the Session, participants received and discussed a wide range of reports and strategic updates, including:
- The IOC President’s Report, outlining key developments and priorities within the Olympic Movement
- Updates under the Fit for the Future framework, focusing on long-term sustainability, efficiency and impact
- Governance-related reports, including contributions from the Ethics Commission, Audit Committee and Finance Commission, reinforcing transparency and accountability
- Reports on the activities of the IOC Coordination Commissions and Organising Committees (OCOGs), with a particular focus on preparations for Milano Cortina 2026 and Los Angeles 2028 (LA28)
- Updates on anti-doping matters, highlighting ongoing efforts to protect clean sport
- A report from the International Council of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS)
- Proposed amendments to the Olympic Charter, the fundamental governing document of the Olympic Movement
Additional items related to IOC operations and governance were also addressed during the two-day Session.

On the occasion of the IOC Session, President Luciano Rossi and Secretary General Alessandro Nicotra di San Giacomo also met key figures of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement, including International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President Andrew Parsons, Honorary President for Life of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach, as well as Brisbane 2032 Members Brent Hill, Chief Marketing Officer, Kit McConnell, Chief Sport Officer; and Gaby Ahrens, vice-chair of the WADA Athlete Council, Vice President of the Namibia National Olympic Committee and Africa Liaison to IOC Athletes’ Commission.
These exchanges provided an opportunity to reinforce dialogue and cooperation within the Olympic family, and to share perspectives on the ongoing development of international sport.
